This program equips students with the necessary technical and professional knowledge and skills, via the blending of theoretical knowledge and practical application, to enable them to pursue a career in electronic engineering and information technology, i.e. design and development, testing, technical support and maintenance.

Graduates may be employed in the areas of communication services and information technologies, electronic product development, embedded systems design, digital TV and broadcasting, digital networking, product testing, and mobile technology and applications. They may also work as technical support in public utilities as well as in sales of electronic components and instruments.

Program Content

The program contains 13 courses of which 7 are core and 6 are elective courses. It requires students to complete a minimum of 120 credits; of which 64 credits are core; 40 credits for final project and 16 credits are from the list of elective courses.

Program delivery mode

All course materials are shared via the Moodle system. Instructors use the Zoom video conferencing facility for conducting weekly lectures where you will be required to participate.

Assessment

The program has coursework and a final written examination. The coursework may include individual and/or group assignments such as project proposals, reports, business plans, written assignments, discussion activities, case studies, and tests, which are conducted online via the Moodle system. The final examination is held at our learning centers in Mwanza, Mbeya, and Dar es Salaam. The coursework carries 50 marks, and the final examination carries 50 marks.

Who may Apply?

At least a Bachelor Degree with minimum GPA of 2.0 from  recognized institution or Advanced Diploma (or its equivalent) from a recognized institution with at least an upper second class award (i.e. overall average of B). In addition, candidates with equivalent qualifications must also possess at least Ordinary Secondary School Certificates with principal level passes in Physics and Mathematics.

Duration and Fees

The duration of the programme is 12 months. Tuition fee is TZS 3,050,000 for Tanzanian students and USD 4,020 for foreign students .
